  • "...Clint and I had the best time of our lives and it is all thanks to Governor Davis and the Blues Ambassadors!  They were so wonderful (as musicians and just great people) and everyone loved listening and dancing to the music.  I really could not have been happier with how everything went.  A million and one thanks!!"   -   Bride, May 2012

  • "With 130 acts playing 16 venues each night, there was no way to hear everyone. The word on the street was that Governor Davis & the Blues Ambassadors, Aunt Kizzy's Boys and the Luther Badman Keith Band were the real competition for Joey Gilmore. There was no doubt that these ensembles could kick some righteous Blues butt..." - DC Rapier, Pres./Blues Society on Taiwan (remarks on the 2006 International Blues Challenge in Memphis; BSoT sponsored Joey Gilmore, who won the Challenge)

  • "These guys are pure entertainment. The dance floor was full of sweaty bodies groovin' hard and the band's stage presence reflects their title with SRV-esque blues/rock covers and sassy originals..." - Charlie Workman, NUVO Newsweekly

  • "Davis and his three bandmates serve up thick, meaty slabs of the blues, steaming and funky like a barbeque picnic on the Fourth of July." - Steve Hammer, NUVO Newsweekly

  • "Governor Davis & the Blues Ambassadors are a great live blues band. You have to take your kids to see them at an all-ages venue. They're so personable with the little ones and bring them up on stage to sing and dance. Great fun and music for the whole family!" - Brenda Michael, 2004 NUVO Newsweekly's Readers Poll

  • "The Ambassadors' performance featured seamlessly traded lead parts, precise back-up vocals, walking bass lines, slap-bass solos, risque lyrics and a virtual tongue-picked guitar solo." Louis Jones, Ball State Daily News '04 (Gov uses his teeth!)

  • "Governor Davis and the Blues Ambassadors are the most unique, fun and talented group I have had the pleasure of seeing. They have a great mix of talent, showmanship and class. They have as much fun as the audience and it shows. They work hard and play hard. If you want to have a great time, go and see these guys." -Kessa Joann Baker (NUVO Newsweekly's "Best of Indy 2001" Readers Poll)
